A little bit more

Today, we are looking for a special home for Daffodil who is a pretty, white and black female cat, estimated to be three years’ old. She was spotted being pushed out onto the street from a house in North Surrey along with her sister, Primrose (who has since been re-homed) and her kitten, Elsa.  The cats’ finder took the three cats into her home as a temporary measure and contacted HFC to ask for help.

Upon arrival into HFC foster care in Ashford, Middlesex, shy Daffodil spent three weeks hiding under a sofa, only coming out at night to eat and to use the litter tray.  Two months on, she remains very shy, preferring to be the one to initiate affection with her Foster Carer by nudging against her hand to ask for a head stroke.

Daffodil is hoping to find a happy home with a very patient and caring adopter(s), accepting of her deep shyness and that she will be unlikely to surface from her hiding space and slightly reluctant to receive affection during the day. However, in recent weeks, Daffodil has progressed to choosing to sleep next to her Carer for a short time several nights per week. She also now loves to spend time watching the world go by from a window, both during the day and at night (see photo!) and to playing with wand toys.  Therefore, given plenty of time and space, we are confident that Daffodil has potential to settle into a quiet and caring new home with adults where she can be the only pet. She would like some safe outside space to enjoy once she has settled in and found her paws.

To prepare Daffodil for re-homing, we have arranged for her to be spayed, microchipped and to receive both vaccinations.

If you are interested in helping Daffodil to overcome her past experience and shyness, please take a look at the checklist in her media where you can see the type of home she is looking for.  Thank you.
