A little bit more

Dickie, who is male, ginger & white and estimated to be approximately 3 years’ old, is looking for his forever home.

HFC was made aware that Dickie was living stray in Surrey by a member of the public.  He had become concerned for Dickie's long-term welfare because he was planning to spend time away from home when Dickie was regularly visiting his garden in search of food.

Our friends at Surrey Missing Pet Support have supported us in Dickie’s case to locate and check over this intelligent boy who resisted any temptation of food from them for many days.  Once they were able to get close enough to check Dickie, he sadly proved to be neither neutered nor microchipped.

Sadly, Surrey Missing Pet Support’s efforts to locate Dickie’s owner have been unsuccessful, so we have taken him into care at our Cattery space on the Surrey/Hampshire border and arranged for him to be vet checked, neutered, microchipped and to receive a first vaccination.

Whilst still a little nervous, Dickie has settled nicely into the Cattery where he is now eating and drinking well.  He has been surprisingly affectionate, even sitting next to his Carer and putting out a paw to ask for more strokes when she thinks he’s had enough.

Dickie has potential to live either with adults or a family with respectful children, aged 10+.  He has had no experience of other cats or dogs whilst in our care.

If you would like to offer our tricky Dickie a forever home that has regular access to safe outside space and you will be available over the summer to settle him in, we would love to hear from you.  Please complete our application form below.  Thank you.
