Ben, our adorable and much-loved Cat Cabins resident, has recently moved to take up his place at a foster home arising in East Sheen (near Mortlake). He is delighted to be back living in a home environment where we understand he has already been "love bombing" his new Foster Carers and been only happy to pose for new photos to add to his stunning HFC portfolio!

Ben, who is now 2 years, 7 months old, started life living in a loving home. However, he was not neutered at that time and began to live stray. Whilst fending for himself, Ben became unpopular with neighbours and his condition deteriorated. His owner (who saw him from time to time) became increasingly concerned for his welfare and contacted HFC to ask for help.

Ben arrived into the care of our Cat Cabins on the Surrey/Hampshire border visibly frightened and fearful of humans. Initially using a careful, “hands-off” approach, our Cabin Team gradually built trust with Ben. With their time and understanding, he bonded with his Carers with whom he became a loving and affectionate lap cat!

Once he had settled at the Cabins, we arranged for Ben to be neutered. An important step in the re-homing of all cats, neutering will lessen a male cat’s drive to stray and expand their territory. Ben was also microchipped and received both vaccinations.

A blood test taken whilst Ben was being prepared for re-homing returned a positive result for the FIV virus.  This means that he needs to live indoors so that there is less potential for him to pick up illnesses and he is not able to pass the virus onto other cats.  Ben is otherwise very healthy and he does not currently need to take any medication.

Ben has potential to be content to live inside with experienced owner(s) who spend the majority of their time at home and will offer him the kindness and attention he has previously missed out on. In return, he has potential to build trust and become a doting and wildly affectionate companion.  Ben's dislikes are that he does not enjoy the company of other pets or the sight of needles when visiting the Vet!
