Chico, who is male, grey and white and 1 year, 4 months’ old, is looking for a new home.

Intended as a playmate for his family’s youngest child, Chico was bought to live in a small flat where there were already two resident cats. Without any indoor space to call his own or access to a garden, Chico soon became frustrated by his environment and stopped getting along with the two other cats. For the welfare of all the cats, a decision was made to seek a new home for Chico.

Chico has come to stay in HFC foster care in Surbiton where he seems very content. When he is not watching the world go by from his window, affectionate Chico likes to spend time with his Carer, enjoying being made a fuss of, “making biscuits” and pretending to be her shadow – even in the bathroom! Human company is important to Chico, who would like to find owners who spend most of their time at home.

Chico currently weighs a slightly chunky 5.5g. As he is “full of beans”, he is already starting to burn off calories through structured play times with his Carer, and we feel sure he will soon reach his target weight when he is also able to spend time outside.

Chico prefers to receive affection on his own terms and does sometimes play with his claws out, and therefore, he would be happiest for his forever home to be with adults or alongside a family with respectful children, aged 8+. Given his past experience, Chico would like to be an only pet.

Chico has previously been neutered and microchipped and HFC has arranged for a re-start of his vaccinations and an update to his flea and worming treatment.
