Ivy, who is female, tabby and 3 years, 9 months’ old, is looking for a forever home. Her owners, who were expecting their first baby, reluctantly decided to put her up for adoption when it became clear that key family members would be unable to visit and support them with the baby due to their severe cat allergies.

Ivy arrived into HFC foster care in Epsom two weeks’ ago, where she quickly climbed to a high spot on top of a wardrobe in order to assess her new territory. Once she decided all was safe, she came down and was soon accepting a fuss and enjoying the comfy laps of her Foster Carers! Ivy settles down in her own bed at night but is often found snuggled on her Carers’ bed by the morning.

Once she knows you, Ivy is very friendly and builds great bonds with her people. She used to greet her previous owner outside as he returned from work trips, doing what he describes as a “hoppy walk” and chatting to him as he prepared to go inside the house.

Ivy is playful and particularly enjoys a feather wand toy. She also likes to pull, and sometimes chew, the sticky tape on cardboard delivery boxes and we therefore request that her adopter(s) supervise box play!

Ivy has potential to live with adults or alongside a family with respectful children aged 8+. She loves to spend time outside and is looking for a home offering regular access to a safe garden once settled.  Ivy likes to pop in and out during the day but returns home when called. Whilst outside, she appears wary of, and will avoid, other cats.

Prior to coming into HFC care, Ivy was spayed, microchipped and brought up-to-date with vaccinations. She is now ready to meet potential adopters.
