A little bit more

Kinder, who is 3 years and 7 months’ old, is looking for a forever home. This adorable, male, black cat (with a tiny bit of white on his chest) first came into HFC care after his owners moved to emergency, temporary accommodation where they were not allowed to keep pets. With the possibility of further emergency moves expected for the family, a decision was reluctantly made to re-home Kinder and his companion, Luna, to allow them the opportunity to find a forever home without delay.

Kinder and Luna arrived into the care of our Cat Cabins on the Surrey/Hampshire border five weeks’ ago. Sadly, their experiences had left them stressed and they no longer seemed happy to spend time in each other’s company. To ensure their wellbeing, we reluctantly separated them. We are pleased to advise that Luna has since been re-homed.

Two weeks' ago, following a home check process and face-to-face introduction with an applicant on our waiting list, Kinder was swiftly adopted to live as a single cat.  However, like so many rescue cats, he was extremely shy in the early days in his new home.  His adopter found it difficult to bond with him whilst he spent much of his time hiding under a bed and we sadly arranged for his return to the care of our Cat Cabins after just a few days.  Having had this unexpected detour in his adoption journey, it is important for Kinder that he is allowed plenty of time and space to settle and approach his humans upon arrival to his new home.  Due to his experiences, he is most likely to flourish in an adult home where he can enjoy being an only pet.

Kinder has the ability to build trust and he is an extremely affectionate and loving cat. Julie, our Cattery Liaison, who has cared for him throughout his stay with HFC, describes Kinder as a "softy".  He is relaxed, playful and loves to have a little chat with her at breakfast and dinner times.

Sadly, Kinder lived an indoor life in his previous home. He is a young, healthy cat and we feel it is important for him to now have the opportunity to enjoy safe outside space once he is settled in his new home. This will be a new opportunity for Kinder and he may need a little encouragement at first.

Kinder was microchipped prior to coming into HFC care. We have arranged for him to be neutered and fully vaccinated and he is ready to meet potential adopters.

If you would like to offer Kinder the chance to charm his way into your forever home and you are committed to allow this gentle boy the time he needs to bond with you, please see the checklist in his media where you can see the type of home he is looking for. Thank you.
