A little bit more
We need a special person to take on this special little cat. The journey may be tough but the rewards will be great.
Three-year-old Maya came into HFC care from a local vet practice where she had been taken to be put to sleep by her owner who had inherited, and was afraid of, her! We sadly have little knowledge about Maya’s background, only that she was moved from a quiet, one-to-one environment to a house bustling with other animals. It is evident there has been some abuse as Maya is terrified of women.
In her foster home with a young couple, Maya has gone from being terrified, aggressive and territorial to being a complete love bug with the male household member, following him around, waiting for him at the door and smothering him with kisses. However, she has steadfastly refused any attempts at bonding with her kind, female Carer and is very wary of her.
We believe that Maya’s forever home may be in an experienced, all male household with adopters who will be prepared to visit her in her foster home in Woking to gradually establish a relationship with her prior to adoption. However, we are open to an adoption to a household that includes women, providing they have extra patience. With her preferred carer, Maya is a loving and funny cat who desperately needs someone to see potential in her and give her that chance. Could that be you?
In preparation for re-homing, Maya has been spayed, microchipped and has received a first vaccination.
If Maya’s story has sparked a desire to help this special young lady and you can offer her a happy home with a safe garden, please take a look at the checklist in her media where you can see the type of home she is looking for. Thank you.
