Merlot who is male, black and estimated to be 1 year old is ready to find his forever home.

Merlot was living stray when he began to visit a garden in Middlesex on a daily basis. He was hungry and the home owner began to feed him in her garden. Merlot was friendly but his finder’s own cat did not wish to share her territory with him and his finder felt unable to invite him inside.

Keen to find Merlot’s home, his Finder placed a paper collar with her contact details on him and she advertised his whereabouts on social media but, sadly, no-one came forward to claim this lovely boy. She then took Merlot to a local vet for a health check where she also made arrangements for him to be neutered as a step towards him being safely re-homed.

Merlot arrived into foster care in Walton-on-Thames two weeks’ ago where he has quickly settled in. Whilst he hides in order to feel safe to sleep, Merlot seems to be enjoying his foster care experience. He loves watching the world go by from a window, meal and snack times!  Merlot is curious about people and will happily accept a fuss from them.  He is already holding chirpy conversations with his new Carer! Merlot has, so far, not been playful.  However, due to his friendly personality, we feel he has potential to live with adults or alongside a family with children, aged 10+ who will be respectful of his wish to hide sometimes.  We are looking for a home for Merlot where he can enjoy being an only pet.

To complete his readiness for re-homing, we have arranged for Merlot to be microchipped and to receive a first vaccination.
